🤔What is QVscribe?

QVscribe is a quality analysis tool that helps engineers and authors write clearer, more consistent, and less ambiguous requirements.

It integrates directly into the tools you already use — like Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based platforms like Jama, DOORS Next, and Polarion — to provide instant, intelligent feedback on your requirements as you work.

💡Why use QVscribe?

Engineering teams rely on well-written requirements to avoid miscommunication, design flaws, and costly rework. However, writing “good” requirements can be difficult and subjective.

QVscribe helps solve this by:

  • 🔍 Analyzing requirement quality in real time

  • 🚨 Identifying vague, ambiguous, or inconsistent language

  • 📘 Providing problem-aware guidance

  • 🛠️ Standardizing requirements across teams and projects

⚙️ How does it work?

QVscribe scores individual requirements for clarity and improves the overall consistency of entire documents.

When you analyze a requirement or document, it checks for common issues like:

  • Unclear – Risk of being misunderstood by a reader

  • Not Testable – Too vague to be proven

  • 📏 Non-Compliant Structure – Poorly formatted requirements

  • 🧩 Uncontrolled Terms – Multiple names for the same object

  • 🧮 Improper Units – Different systems of units are used

  • 📄 Duplications – The same information repeated

  • ⚔️ Contradictions – Conflicting information in the same document

🧰 QVscribe Core Features

QVscribe has three core features:

Quality Analysis scores the individual requirement on a scale of 1-5, based on the ruleset in your selected configuration. This includes:

  • Configured Problem Types and phrase lists, which help identify potentially unclear or untestable requirements
  • Glossary terms that provide clear definitions to keep your team aligned
  • Conformance with the Easy Approach to Requirements Syntax (EARS)*
*EARS conformance does not impact the Quality Analysis score

Consistency Analysis brings the terms and units used in the document to your attention so you can easily check to see if there are any uncontrolled terms or improper units.

Similarity Analysis shows the match strength of each requirement so you can quickly find potential duplications or contradictions.

🌐 Where can you use it?

You can use QVscribe in:

📄 Microsoft Office

  • Word

  • Excel

💻 Web-based platforms

  • Jama Connect

  • IBM DOORS Next Generation

  • Siemens Polarion

Each version offers the same core analysis but is optimized for how requirements are created and reviewed in each environment.
